Public Services and Procurement Canada - Raffy Antranikian (summer 2015 and 2016)
"This internship changed my life for the better. I was really worried that not getting into the co-op program meant that I was never going to gain valuable work experience while completing my degree. Luckily, I was able to gain work experience in the government and the skills I developed are things that I can use for the rest of my life no matter the place I work. I was lucky I found this internship because if I had never clicked on the link in email sent by the Telfer Career Centre, then I would have never known about this opportunity."
Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Adam Stelmach (summer 2015 and 2016)
"I am very fortunate to have secured a job as a student here at Fisheries and Oceans Canada. I like how they treat their students here just as any other new staff member. Both my managers always supported me and taught me many valuable skills. I am also very thankful for everything they have taught me and their patience with me being as I am a student and fairly new to the workplace. My time at DFO has been very rewarding and an overall interesting experience."
Public Works and Government Services Canada – Hassan Souleiman (fall 2011)
"I had a work term at PWGSC during summer 2011. During this internship, I was able to gain experience in the federal government. This experience allowed me to put into practice some of the theories I learned in class. At the end of my work term, I received a part-time contract due to my perseverance and patience."
Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Genevieve Good (summer 2011)
"When I was recruited in the second year of my BCom in Accounting, a career in the public service was something I had not considered. The DFO Internship offered me flexibility during my degree so I was able to gain experience in my field and still be able to participate in an international exchange. I took full advantage of the internship and had a rewarding and challenging experience. Now, I am one year out of my undergrad, enjoying fantastic work-life balance, many opportunities for advancement in my career in the exciting and growing field of internal audit, and developing skills that are in high demand."
