Alumni on the Move: Nancy Desrosiers

Marleen ReadheadCongratulations to Nancy Desrosiers, EMBA 2015, on her new role as Executive Director, Quality & Patient Safety, Infection Control and Community Engagement with Vancouver Coastal Health.

I started the Telfer Executive MBA program with clinical leadership experience, but I needed to strengthen my understanding of the business industry locally and globally to further advance my career.  This accelerated program developed and prepared me for my new role, as the Executive Director, Clinical Quality and Safety, Infection Control and Community Engagement for Vancouver Coastal Health in British Columbia, which is one of Canada’s largest health providers, encompassing 13 hospitals, delivering health services to one million people.

The key aspects of the Telfer Executive MBA Program is to ensure candidates succeed and excel beyond their capacity. They deliver on that promise and as we learned in class, when evaluating the efficiency of an investment, 'my return on investment exceeded far beyond expectations relative to the cost'.

The diverse experience each faculty and candidate contributed to my learning and helped me achieve that goal while broadening my prospective outside the healthcare industry.  They provided me the forum to apply global business, critical and strategic thinking in a professional context, all while providing a safe environment to practice these newly acquired skills.

Making the decision to invest in my future and choosing a reputable program such as the Telfer Executive MBA is a decision I will never regret and one where I will be forever grateful."
