Congratulations to Kent MacDonald, EMBA 1996, and St. Francis Xavier University on hosting Special Olympics 2018 Summer Games.
St Francis Xavier University (St. FX) announced on July 12th that the School had been chosen to host the Special Olympics 2018 Summer Games.
Kent MacDonald, Telfer Executive MBA Class of 1996 is President and Vice Chancellor of St. FX in Nova Scotia. Prior to moving to his undergradaute alma mater, Kent held several senior level positions at Algonquin College in Ottawa including President from 2012-2014.
In the news release, Kent expressed his excitment and appreciation of the selection of St. FX as host, “This is truly an exciting day for StFX, our town and county,” said StFX President Dr. Kent MacDonald during the announcement. “This is a very important announcement. It is a tremendous honour to host these games. I am absolutely certain we will leave a StFX thumbprint on the athletics and host the best Special Olympics ever,” added Dr. MacDonald. “I can’t wait until 2018. It’s going to be a wonderful games.”
