The rainy weather took a break on Saturday July 21st allowing for candidates, alumni, professors, staff and their families to enjoy the third annual ‘Summer in the Park with Telfer Executive MBA’ event at Camp Fortune.

Over 130 of the Telfer Executive MBA community enjoyed a barbecue picnic-style lunch and the live entertainment of local youth musicians from OrKidstra; a music program for children 5 to 18 in under-served areas in Ottawa.

Children had the opportunity to paint, draw, play with bubbles, kick a few balls, and skip rope however they were very excited to have a design painted on their face while watching in amazement as the balloon artist created creatures from balloons. A new addition to the activity list this year was the bouncing castle for those age 8 and under that allowed parents to connect while the kids safely played together inside the castle.

The afternoon swept most of the crowd away from the picnic area and high up into the trees. Both adults and youth were fitted into safety equipment and put their climbing skills to the test as they took to the zip line course. The course offers a mix of climbing walls, obstacles and direct lines from tree to tree. While the kids enjoyed the experience, it was the adults who really dug deep to discover their primitive roots and have a lot of fun along the course.

Thank you to the families who made their way to Chelsea, Quebec to spend a wonderful afternoon with the Telfer Executive MBA community.

The Telfer Executive MBA opens doors, but it’s the maturity and growth from it that lets you walk through that door.
