Nicole Proulx, EMBA 2005, was appointed Interim Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of the Parliaments in July. Nicole is the first woman to be appointed to this position as well as to bring a wealth of private sector experience from previous positions.
In his announcement, The Honourable George J. Furey, Q.C., Speaker of the Senate, congratulated Nicole on her appointment listing the many skills that she brings to the position:
Ms. Proulx carries a wealth of executive experience from serving in the Senate as well as working with federal departments, central agencies, other legislative assemblies, and private organizations. She has demonstrated sound leadership during periods of significant change within the Senate, most notably as Clerk of the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration.
Ms. Proulx possesses a deep understanding of the policies, procedures and practices of the Senate and extensive experience in the governance of this important institution.
After beginning her career with the Senate of Canada in 1998, Nicole enrolled in the Telfer Executive MBA in the Fall of 2003. She continues to attribute the Telfer Executive MBA in contributing significantly to her career path since graduating in 2005. After a 20 year career with the Senate of Canada, Nicole retired in January of 2018. Congratulations to Nicole on an accomplished career.
