Do you have a unique talent, or hobby, Prachi? Any funny or unique stories that accompany this talent? ?

I do not have any unique talent or hobby as such, I have very normal hobbies like reading, painting and travelling. However, I do have a funny story associated with my craze for travelling. I was really desperate to go for a trip somewhere during a long weekend. It was a very busy weekend and all of the buses, trains and flights were booked. My boyfriend (now my husband) and went to a bus station and somehow managed to get tickets to place we hadn’t heard of; we just boarded the bus. During the journey on the bus, we googled where we were going. It was a totally different, spontaneous and memorable experience for us.

What made you decide to enroll within the Telfer Executive MBA program?

Moving to Canada was a turning point in my life which made me consider an Executive MBA Program. My objective for pursuing my degree is to gain skills, international exposure and to most importantly to leverage the program to establish my career in Canada.

I am looking forward to moving into a different domain. I want to transition from IT to micro-finance and I hope to get a break into a good microfinance organization. I chose this particular program because of the Signature Series of Six Business Consulting Projects; I wanted to gain practical experience and international exposure and access to organizations outside of IT. The Telfer Executive MBA offers all these things.

Prachi, is there any community events where you volunteer? What draws you to this cause?

I recently volunteered at a community center for providing basic computer training to people in need. I strongly believe in teaching people how to fish rather than giving them a fish and I want to enable people to be self-reliant and help them in whatever way that I can help.

The knowledge acquired through the Telfer Executive MBA Program helped me address new challenges with much greater confidence and surpass the expectations of stakeholders.
