Binder, what would you say was the craziest or most unique experience you have had while vacationing?
When my wife and I were expecting our first child we decided to go on our last vacation alone to a resort in the Dominican Republic -- it was beautiful and amazing. We went on a tour one day that included a 'banana boat' ride. All of us got on the banana boat, and the driver started taking us through some big waves to give us tourists a thrill. I was sitting behind my wife at the back of the boat when we all started to fall from the boat, and inadvertently kicked my wife in the head before all of us fell into the water. I freaked out as I was worried that I had knocked her out while in the ocean no less, while she was pregnant.
What would you say was the turning point in choosing the Telfer Executive MBA?
While researching and considering various MBA programs I attended one of the special events at the Telfer Executive MBA. The panel of alumni described the program using compelling and relevant examples from the real-world business context of today. This really resonated with me. It was then that I knew I wanted to be part of the Telfer Executive MBA program. In the following weeks I began the application process and found the Telfer Executive MBA staff to be very supportive- so much so, that it almost felt as though I was dealing with family.
Binder, is there any not-for profit organizations or clubs which you support? What draws you to this cause?
Sport has been my passion since I was a child. In the past 10 years I have regularly volunteered to coach youth sports. This included minor hockey, little league baseball and recreational soccer. In all, I have spent more than 600 hours developing children’s skills and knowledge in sports, to improve their work ethic; teach children to work as a team and to have fun.
