Trudeau Medal Winners - Linda Eagen (EMBA 2002)

President & CEO, Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation

With close to 20 years of experience as a fundraising professional, Linda Eagen is a recognized leader in the not-for-profit sector.  She has a proven track record as a relationship-builder and change-facilitator in our community.

Under Linda's inspirational leadership, the Cancer Foundation is opening Canada’s first centre for cancer survivorship.  When the doors to the Maplesoft Centre open in the Fall of 2011, thousands of cancer patients in our community will have access to Cancer Survivorship Care.  It’s a new concept in cancer care that addresses the emotional, physical, social, practical, spiritual and informational needs of cancer survivors and their families.  Cancer Survivorship Care services are delivered through a series of programs and workshops tailored to an individual’s personal needs through every step of the cancer journey from pre-diagnosis, through diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment recovery.  The programs are offered free of charge, and without the need for a medical referral.

Linda has successfully completed the Executive MBA program at the University of Ottawa.  She has directed several campaigns and developed a variety of revenue-generation programs that have raised over $100 million in support of health, education, arts and culture, community and social welfare organizations. At the 2009 Ottawa Business Achievement Awards, the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce awarded the Cancer Foundation with silver in the category: Not-For-Profit Organization of the year, and at the 2010 Gala de l'Excellence Linda was awarded Executive of the Year.
