The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa has over 25,000 alumni around the world and many active alumni associations. These associations organize a wide range of events throughout the year to gather alumni and students and to promote professional linkages with the business community and the University.

Mentorship programs at Telfer take many forms and enables current students to connect with industry leaders.

  • Executive Mentors

The Telfer Executive Mentoring Program links senior students with mentoring opportunities offered by industry executives.   • Capital Markets Mentorship Program (CMMP)

The Telfer CMMP is a three-year development program that gives high‑performing finance students exceptional learning opportunities to help them launch a career in the field of finance.

The PCMP is a two-year development program that provides selected students with case simulation and workshop experiences that give them advanced preparation for the consulting world.

Telfer BCom Internship Program (including the Hong Kong Experiential Learning Program)

This paid internship program offers organizations the opportunity to recruit highly qualified students and train them over multiple work terms. Organizations then have the option of hiring these students as full-time employees upon their graduation.

Connexions Program

Connexions is an unpaid internship program and a cost-effective recruiting method providing employers with qualified personnel. The Program offers undergraduate students the chance to acquire experience in their field of study in order to complement their classroom learning.

Helping Your Community

Junior Achievement Program

The Telfer School of Management and the Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE) Junior Achievement (JA) program have signed an agreement for the promotion of youth entrepreneurship. The objective of the agreement includes fostering community engagement and enhancing the offering of experiential learning in Ottawa schools. The JA program inspires youth to start a business, make better financial decisions and chart a career path, while engaging community volunteers from local businesses and post-secondary institutions to provide hands-on learning opportunities for Grade 5-12 students. The program is offered free of charge to local area schools with the support of volunteers, community partners and sponsors.

CASCO

CASCO is a student-run charity organization comprised of mostly students from the Telfer School of Management. The club allows students to promote social responsibility and to apply business knowledge to raise both awareness and funds for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Over the years, CASCO has raised over $480,000 for CHEO, helping them to purchase new equipment and to provide assistance to families in need.
