There has been a longstanding bilateral relation between Canada and India. Both are democratic countries with many shared values such as ‘pluralism’, ‘freedom of expression’, ‘tolerance’, and ‘inclusiveness’. There has been an increased level of cooperation between these two countries in recent years. Bilateral trade has improved significantly over the years – from CAN$ 5 billion in 2011 to CAN$ 8 billion in 2015 – showing a growing and healthy partnership between these two countries. Besides, Canada is home to a very large Indian Diasporas. It is also noteworthy to recognize that many Indian students attend Canadian Universities and Colleges. Therefore, it is of mutual interests to promote and nurture the Indo-Canadian bilateral relations.
The objectives of the event are:
- to promote educational collaboration (both research and teaching) between Indian institutes and Telfer School of Business,
- to provide a networking opportunity to our students with local business leaders - mainly from Indo-Canadian community.
- to promote entrepreneurial activities and business relations between Canada and India.
