“What I love about my work at Telfer is that every day, I have the privilege of helping young professionals to grow and see themselves differently from a professional standpoint. I get to guide them in a career development process that strengthen both their confidence and self-esteem.
One of the lessons that I have learned over the course of my career is that to do something great, we must let go of our obsession with absolute perfection. No one is required to reach perfection!
If I could go back in time, I do not think that I would do anything differently, as each step of my career, even a layoff, has led me to something greater. As a woman, however, I think that I would try to have more confidence in my abilities.”

“One of my happiest memories while being a student at Telfer was the incredible friendships I made. To this day, I am still amazed at the fact that this school is a community and that everyone who integrates it becomes part of a family.
The connections I’ve built through my classes, with my professors, as well as in clubs and other extracurricular activities, have opened my eyes and made me a better person. I’ve always felt that I was able to contribute to and become part of something big, considering that I came to Canada as an international student. My friends made my integration and adaptation to Canadian life easier, and this is one of my best memories of my time as a student at Telfer.
Now that I am an alumna, I have the opportunity to do the same for other students with my role as Career Engagement Coordinator at the Telfer Career Centre. I want students to have the same experience as me and carry that through their studies and bring that into their careers.”

"The most important lesson that I’ve learned in life is to listen to yourself and not be influenced by other people. You are the only one capable of changing and creating your destiny. If you ever come across a difficult situation, never give up.
A revered Persian poet once said, ‘This too shall pass,’ which is applicable not only to the good moments but also the bad ones. We need to value the moments that we have, live in the present, let go of the past and think of the future as a discovery. The difficult situations that we face will eventually pass, the cycle of life will continue, and everything will fall back into place. This is a quote that I love immensely because it shows our own humanity in a very fast-paced world. Always listen to yourself, love yourself and never let anything put you down."

“As manager of the Career Centre, I make sure that everything is ready to go for all the activities that we have going on, whether it is for a networking event or workshop. I also run the ambassador program, making sure the ambassadors have the resources to do what they need to do. In addition, my role consists of checking in with employers for upcoming activities and meeting with them when they are on campus. My role also allows me to be creative, to build strategies and plans, and seeing that my background is in marketing, it’s a great fit.
One of the things I love about my job is the dual role of working with students and with employers. Students keep you young, employers keep you professional. Overall, it is a good balance.”

"The Digital Marketing Development Program generated so much interest last winter that we decided to make it into a course. I am one of two instructors for the English class, along with Jonathan Simon. We wanted to do something different, so we partnered with PageCloud and Klipfolio to bring students a course which is innovative and practical. The course has no textbook and all student assignments are done on the website so they can get real-life experience; they build a personal branding website and practice the topics explored in class, all while developing a digital footprint that will help them to secure employment.
We have also integrated speakers from different companies, who speak about different topics such as analytics, SEO, content marketing, IX/UX, etc. Our goal is to provide students with exposure to the skills, knowledge, and networks required to work in this field.
Students also have the option to attend our annual Marketing Trip to Toronto. This year, we will visit Google, 500 PX, Proctor & Gamble, Rogers, and WE Charity. This trip is designed to introduce students to Toronto’s digital marketing ecosystem."
