Rising Stars: Duran Guest

Honours Bachelor of Commerce, Management (French Immersion)

Duran Guest is a 3^rd year Telfer B.Com student looking forward to her 16-month internship with Ford Motor Company. The in-depth experience gained will be of great value as she would like to work in a business division within a large company upon graduating. Duran explains how she secured her internship:

“During my first year of university, I attended a few of the workshops, including the etiquette workshop and the goal-setting workshop – both of which were useful for networking and completing basic projects and assignments.  The networking events were very helpful, especially the Telfer Networking Convention". 

Brian Carriere and Caroline Hannah (Career Centre’s Relationship Managers) were very helpful when I had questions about how to start applying for different jobs. They were very flexible and super easy to communicate with. Brian put me in touch with the people I needed to contact when applying for internships and job postings.

Also, the resume assistance really helped when applying for the Ford internship. I was able to see how different jobs can provide various skills that can be applied to other positions. I would not have been able to get this internship opportunity without the help of the Career Center.”
