Ivy Bourgeault wins University’s Award for Excellence in Research
Congratulations to Professor Ivy Lynn Bourgeault, recipient of the APUO’s Award for Excellence in Research 2016-2017. Bourgeault is a Professor in the Telfer School of Management who has garnered an international reputation for her research on health professions, health policy and women's health. Her recent research focuses on the migration of health professionals and their integration into the Canadian health care system. The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Chair in Gender, Work and Health Human Resources, professor Bourgeault is the Scientific Director of the pan-Ontario Population Health Improvement Research Network and the Ontario Health Human Resource Research Network, both housed at the University of Ottawa with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care. Professor Bourgeault also leads the pan Canadian Health Human Resources Network with funding from Health Canada and the CIHR.
APUO’s Award for Excellence in Research is given annually to focus attention on research at the University of Ottawa by recognizing a member of its teaching staff who has earned distinction for herself and for the University as a result of the importance and exceptional characteristics of her research work.
