Medical scheduling through an analytics lens

A study by Amine Montazeri, a 2015 M.Sc. Health Systems graduate, focused on assignment scheduling in the division of anatomical pathology at the Ottawa Hospital pathology laboratory, was published in the Annual AMIA Symposium Proceedings (American Medical Informatics Association). Developed in collaboration with Jonathan Patrick, Wojtek Michalowski, and Diponkar Banerjee, the research describes an analytics optimization model embedded in a decision support tool that the clinical managers could use in determining the optimal monthly assignment schedule.   Read more ›

Professor Samir Saadi is a Distinguished Visiting Researcher at Groupe ESC Troyes (France)

Samir Saadi will be a Distinguished Visiting Researcher at the Group ESC (École supérieure de commerce) in Troyes, France from June to July, 2016. Professor Saadi was invited as part of a program of support for international research cooperation funded by the Champagne-Ardenne region in France. An assistant professor of finance at the Telfer School, he will be working in collaboration with colleagues on a project titled “Product Market Competition and Cost of Equity Capital.” Read more ›

Dan Lane discusses ocean law and governance in China

Professor Daniel Lane, a Full Professor at the Telfer School of Management, joined a delegation of the Canadian branch of the International Ocean Institute, IOI-Canada, which was invited to assist the National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS) with its first China-ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) Academy on Ocean Law and Governance.
