Telfer School of Management Annual Campaign
Our Alumni’s generous contributions help us create new academic programs, enhance faculty and research excellence, expand student resources and services, and provide financial support for students.
You have three clear choices when it comes to targeting your donation to the Telfer School of Management’s annual campaign; it can be applied to the Micheál J. Kelly Fund, Student Scholarships or the Dean’s Strategic Priorities Fund.
Micheál J. Kelly Fund
In honour of Dean Micheál Kelly’s enormous contribution to the success of our School, we have established the Micheál J. Kelly Fund. This fund contributes to Dean Kelly’s legacy in a way that means a lot to him: It will support students competing under the Telfer School banner, generating pride and an enhanced reputation for the School through their success across Canada and around the world.
Student Scholarships
Your investment in Student Scholarships ensures Telfer students have the support they need to achieve their goals. We are committed to attracting the best and brightest students, and dedicated to offering them some relief from the financial burden of a university education.
Graduate students, who choose to take their education to the next level, often feel these financial challenges more acutely on their path to becoming high-performance managers and leading contributors to the growth and success of the economy. Your gift towards Graduate Admission Scholarships will help exceptional students continue to excel, while providing the Telfer School with much-needed incentives to attract outstanding students from Canada and around the world.
Student Mobility Scholarships provide critical financial assistance to students who qualify and who are determined to seize the unforgettable and priceless experience of studying abroad.
The Dean’s Leadership Scholarships support academic excellence, offering students who enter with a 90%+ GPA the incentive to continue excelling in the more demanding world of post-secondary studies.
Help us recognize and encourage talented and deserving students destined to become accomplished leaders whose skill and vision will contribute directly to the prosperity of the global marketplace.
Peter and Ann Koppel Scholarship for Excellence
This scholarship fund was created by the Telfer School of Management to honour Professor Peter Koppel’s 27 years of service to students and the academic community and recognize the lasting impact he has had on tens of thousands of students throughout his career. The scholarship will recognize a student who has exemplified academic achievement, social responsibility, and involvement in the community in their first year at the Telfer School of Management.
Dean’s Strategic Priorities Fund
Every year, the Telfer School invests in strategic priorities which are determined by the Dean. Gifts to the Dean’s Strategic Priorities Fund are used to provide support for student activities and new initiatives, upgrade facilities, launch new programs, and support research activities.
The Ron Sapsford MHA Scholarship for Health Care Leadership
This admission scholarship for a top candidate for the Master’s of Health Administration (MHA) program at the Telfer School of Management was initiated by colleagues of Ron Sapsford (MHA 1981) to commemorate his many achievements during his years of service in the public sector. Mr. Sapsford was Deputy Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. Prior to that he has held positions as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation; Assistant Deputy Minister of Institutional and Community Services for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Vice-President Teaching Hospitals & Chief Operating Officer for the Ontario Hospital Association.
Mr. Sapsford holds a Masters of Health Administration from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, and in 2006, he received the Trudeau Medal, the School’s highest honour.
Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence and leadership and be expected to go on to make a valuable contribution to the public sector, especially in the realm of health care.
