Notice biographique

Avant d’entreprendre sa carrière universitaire, la professeure O’Sullivan a travaillé dans les télécommunications comme gestionnaire de systèmes informatiques. Elle a enseigné à la Rotman School of Management de l’Université de Toronto, l’École de gestion John-Molson de l’Université Concordia et, aujourd’hui, à l’École de gestion Telfer de l’Université d’Ottawa. Elle a obtenu de nombreuses subventions de recherche du Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines du Canada et, en 2005, elle a été nommée « meilleure évaluatrice » par la division de la gestion internationale de l’Academy of Management.

Domaines de recherche

Ses recherches ont porté sur la gestion de carrière des expatriés, y compris la manière de leur fournir des compétences pratiques interculturelles et du soutien organisationnel (ex. : procédures et méthodes internationales en ressources humaines) afin de faciliter l’échange de connaissances. Elle a présenté des communications aux congrès de diverses associations : AMA, EAM, ASAC, ISSWOV, EIASM et CPA. Ses recherches ont paru dans les revues savantes Journal of International Business Studies, Human Relations et International Journal of Human Resource Management. Ses recherches actuelles sont axées sur les enjeux liés à la gestion des ressources humaines au sein d’ONG internationales.

Domaines d’enseignement

La professeure O’Sullivan a donné une variété de cours tant au premier cycle qu’aux cycles supérieurs (MBA, M.Sc., Ph.D.), y compris la gestion internationale des ressources humaines, la gestion comparative et interculturelle, le comportement organisationnel, introduction à la gestion des ressources humaines et la gestion du changement. Elle enseigne principalement en anglais, mais a donné des cours en français aux études supérieures. Membre de la Faculté des études supérieures et postdoctorales, elle a supervisé plusieurs thèses et mémoires de recherche.
