Innovation in Lebanon: The Role of Banque Du Liban
The Telfer School of Management , in collaboration with the MINDSMASTER and John Michael Farhat Foundations, is pleased to invite you to a conference given by the Vice Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Mr. Raed Charafeddine, on Friday March 16, 2018 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm (Room DMS4101, 55 Laurier Avenue East).
The implications of the emergence of the fourth industrial revolution at the onset of the third millennium infer that achieving sustainable growth and development is a result of the acquisition of knowledge, progress in technology, and specialization in production, rather than capital accumulation and labor intensity.
It has become more evident that what truly separates developed and less developed countries is not just a gap in resources or output, but primarily a gap in knowledge. Envisioning this fact, Banque Du Liban had committed to set forth the platforms necessary for incrementing the essentials of knowledge and innovation in the Lebanese economy.
The talk highlights Lebanon's major comparative advantages and how the Central Bank aims at bridging that knowledge gap towards sustainable growth and development.
