Message from Vice-Dean (Research) Wojtek Michalowski
Thank you for visiting the research pages of the Telfer School of Management. I hope that you will take the opportunity to learn more about what differentiates us as a research-intensive business school committed to providing outstanding research graduate programs and an unrivaled graduate student experience.
Prospective students who have in mind the M.Sc. in Management, the M.Sc. in Health Systems, or the Ph.D. in Management programs can expect to benefit from contact with dedicated faculty and a vibrant, interdisciplinary research culture that will expose them to a variety of research paradigms. We have established connections with researchers at other leading universities around the world, with industry groups and government agencies, and through those connections our students learn from the best and gain valuable real-world experience. To name just one example, Health Systems students gain unparalleled experience through a three-month research internship at a collaborating research institute. Our doctoral program has been similarly designed to bring together excellence in research with relevance to practice.
While the faculty here contribute to all management fields, what makes us distinct is a focus on three areas. The Analytics and Performance group investigates effective uses of data and data analytics for evidence-based decision-making. The Health Systems Management group examines issues associated with healthcare transformation and innovation, taking a health systems perspective. The Entrepreneurship and Innovation group studies the processes of enterprise creation and develops the instruments that support innovation. In addition to these fields, the Telfer School has innovative and high impact research in management and marketing; in finance and accounting; and in organizational behaviour and human resource management.
