As with most countries, Malaysia is undergoing health systems transformation in order to better provide care to its citizens. These transformations present numerous challenges at the health systems level and require new perspectives on research to address these challenges. In this seminar Haniza Anuar, head of Healthcare Services Research, Institute for Health Systems Research, Malaysia, will provide an overview of the Malaysian Healthcare System and the transformation it is undergoing. An emphasis will be placed on research implications of the transformation.

Haniza Anuar is currently Head of Healthcare Services Research, Institute for Health Systems Research, Malaysia. Research Officer with the Ministry of Health for more than 30 years. Did 'A' levels and 1st degree in London, MSc Mgmt in Northern University, Malaysia. Her current research is focused on Integration of traditional medicine into the healthcare system, Assessment of the Malaysia Clinics, Media analysis of the H1N1 Pandemic in Malaysia, Care in Malaysia, Evaluation of the Quality Assurance Programme in Malaysia.
